It’s November and it’s a great time to reflect on the many blessings in my life. I am grateful for so much, but I have a soft spot for the amount of growth I’ve had since releasing Dim the Lights as my first album. I’m not a. newbie to music or songwriting, but I’ve always been rather private and careful about the music industry. The business side never really appealed to me after some bad experiences while young, and I focused my adult career on my writing and education skills. Music is my first love, and to keep it safe, I always wanted to keep it hidden. Ironically, this meant no one really heard my music. I am so glad that I reached a point after deciding to work from home in 2012 that I wanted my music released. My first two singles were imperfect, but I was happy with them being done. Finally, Dim the Lights became a realistic goal, and I have enjoyed learning more and more about music production and songwriting along the way. I’m still very private, but I find myself being grateful to everyone involved in making that moment happen. It’s not always about money or fame for real artists, so I love that I get to leave my music behind one day. It’s there to reach people whenever and wherever it happens to find them. How grateful I am to God for giving me a talent that can outlive me one day.

I was on the Illuminating the Stories that Bind Us podcast a few weeks ago, and I really enjoyed the experience of talking about mental health and my own personal journey. Jennifer Carey and Shannon Ward were so welcoming and positive. This is really the first time I was ever able to share my story at length and connect it to my creative process. If you want to get to know me, this is a great way to start. You can also find the podcast on Spotify. Illuminating the Stories that Bind Us podcast with Prin

To celebrate the holiday season, I created a Spotify playlist for you to enjoy! It is growing by the day, but it is currently over 14 hours of music from all kinds of genres and decades. From songs that hail from my various ethnic ancestry to songs I’ve done with collaborations and my favorite songs over the years, this playlist is really great on shuffle. You just never know what’s going to pop up! For music lovers, this playlist is for you!

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and Happy New Year!

So excited to share this new song! Last year, Shannon Ward and Janet Buller approached me about collaborating on a song they had been developing. I came on as co-writer and producer for the track. It’s been a journey from key changes to a total remake of acoustic folk genre to the final ambient moody eclectic vibe today! I’m so proud to be working with other women in music and expressing songs that resonate with trauma, healing, and the ongoing process of growth with hindsight reflection. What’s your secret?

You get 4 weeks of 40 minute lessons with a maximum of 4 students per group. There are currently 3 available start times – 11AM, 12PM, and 1PM. Keyboards and necessary sheet music are provided. The sessions explore the basics of piano and music in a small group environment at my home in Pequannock, NJ.

I have been teaching music for over 22 years within the traditional classroom and privately. I’m a songwriter, piano player, and music producer with independent music albums and I love being a musician. For over 10 years, I’ve successfully explored music education in small group formats to help students explore the interest in a more interactive way. I use colors, finger numbers, and traditional music theory to meet different learning levels and needs. While I typically accept private students ages 2 through adult, this introduction class is geared for early elementary ages, 5-10. If you would like to start private lessons younger or older, feel free to contact me about my private student schedule for the fall.

Prin wrote, performed, and produced I See You after receiving a lovely piano riff from Peter Nickolas Flores that she loved. The motif became the ear worm instrumental transition in the song that became I See You. With ambient and electronic production, I See You is a love song that works more as a monologue of the questions we ask ourselves when we’re debating how to be vulnerable. It sets a mood. Find it on Spotify and all major streaming. Enjoy it below on YouTube!
