Wellness and the Arts

You may have noticed that I have added an ongoing series of programs to my business over the last 2 years – wellness and the arts. It is growing and I am so happy to be running a variety of wellness and the arts programs in the NJ, NY, and MA areas. As I pursue further graduate education in integrative health, my goal is to make wellness accessible by making the arts more accessible as an expression tool for mental health. Wellness and the Arts workshops are a multidisciplinary idea that combines calming techniques, science-based relaxation methods, music, and art as ways to support activities like meditation, yoga, and educational settings.

An example of a wellness and the arts program I have done for the West Orange Arts Center consisted of an accessible yoga program with mats that used a very simple flow of asanas to help slow down breathing and gently encourage range of motion while listening to Hertz frequency music live and recorded, aromatherapy, and nature meditation focus tools.

Through the Pequannock Parks and Recreation senior house, I’ve run the program as a chair-based hour of wellness with breathing exercises, mild stretching, and a simple nature with art activity sandwiched between two meditations, surrounded by Hertz frequency music, Mozart effect playlists, kinesthetic handheld instrument play, and sensory breaks with no lights and no talking.

In Massachusetts, I’ve had the joy of joining the vision of Jennifer Carey’s therapeutic practice, podcast, and retreats. As a music consultant, we have prescribed songs for individual inner healing and mental health journeys while creating full workshops and weekends of music integrated with science-based healing methods, like laughter, journaling, dance, and self-expression exercises.

If you’d like for me to run a wellness and the arts program for you, your facility, home, or school – please, contact me and we can create it together to meet your needs! I’m excited to expand Music by Prin LLC into the integrative wellness community and hope to provide my knowledge of music, education, and mental health to create safe and supportive spaces accessible to all people of any age.
