As part of my new book about integrated calm living with music, writing, and education, I’ve created a new YouTube channel to go alongside with this style. These will be mostly meditative, relaxing, sound therapy, and Hz frequency tools to help with calm living goals. Enjoy!
I’ve started a new niche area of my creative projects, focused on calm living and whole wellness with music, writing, and education. As part of this, I’ve also created a new website that will hold space for those topics a little separate from Music by Prin. Calm Chats with Prin will take place on my Music by Prin Facebook page and will feature special guests who are fellow parents juggling their music careers (and a few other creative folks, too).
Visit The Calm Principles site for more info on my upcoming book, Calm Chats with Prin, and all things creatively calm for musicians, writers, and educators.
During Covid quarantine, I’ve had to sharpen skills at home to help me be self-sufficient in my music, songwriting, creative projects, and all that fun stuff. One skill has been a hobby in the past – production. I’ve usually arranged and produced my work, and then paid a professional producer to take an audio to a polished, quality level. Well, now that producer has to be me until further notice, and I’ve been exploring soundscapes and rough demos. I’m using GarageBand, which is a great beginner DAW and allows me to work off of my iPad easily.
I wrote Meditation in G96 with a few “structure” ideas in place to help me do it. As a meditation melody, I chose the key of G to focus on the throat chakra. I chose tempo 96, because I wanted to include some spiritual numerology ideas about mirroring and reflection. As far as sounds, I layered a combination of the following sounds into tracks: drum kick, congas, tambourine, shaker, toms, clave, synth keyboard, digital strings with bass and cello sounds, and some piano input. I had some fun and enjoyed the vibe I created. Enjoy!
No Angels is a song that would have been released in 2006. However, I decided to release the instrumental track of the song as a fun way day to get back into releasing my songwriting that has been hiding. 😉 Enjoy!
Ana’s Song is from the album, Dim the Lights. It is an #ambientpiano #instrumental featuring minimalist vocal effects and percussions to create a mood.
